The Danone Inc. Company ("Danone"), Canadian manufacturer of DANONE® branded yogurt as well as other brands of dairy products such as SILHOUETTE, ACTIVIA, DANACTIVE, DANACOL, DANINO, CRUSH, COOLISION, CREAMY has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and use practices for the Danone Web site, www.danone.ca.

INFORMATION COLLECTION NOTICE

This Web site does not offer the ability to site visitors to post personal information or personally identifiable information. It collects personal information only from site visitors who send emails to us and forwards that information to various third parties who provide marketing research, customer service and web-related services. We use the information consumers send us in emails in order to reply to those consumers and retain it securely as part of our third party's consumer affairs database. COOKIES

For each visitor to danone.ca our web server automatically recognizes and stores information such as the visitor's IP address/domain name combination, type of web browser, computer operating system (e.g., Windows or Mac OS), and any referring web sites. When you visit danone.ca, our server sends a "cookie" to your browser. Cookies are small amounts of data that our web site sends to your computer while you are visiting the web site. Danone will not collect or post personal information from children under the age of eighteen without their parent's or guardian's consent. Danone does not provide any personally identifying information collected from children, regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever. When a child submits information to the Danone Web site, the child's parent or guardian receives an e-mail alerting them to the child's registration and provides instructions on how the parent could delete the child's registration, if so desired. Although children are allowed to participate in contests, if a child wins, notification and prizes are sent to the parents or guardians identified in the initial registration process. No personal information collected from children is used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever, either inside or outside Danone. Danone encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate in the interactive activities offered on the sites.  

CHANGING PERSONAL INFORMATION

It is not necessary for visitors to the Danone Web site to provide personal information unless they want information to be sent to them. Our hosting agency institutes commercially reasonable systems security including firewalls to guard against access to the data, physical measures, such as, locked filing cabinets and restricted access to offices. Danone also trains and brings awareness to its employees as to the importance of privacy, confidentiality and security of the personal information of our clients.
